Webex Calling Tips when used with WxCC
ANI / PAI
Webex Calling has a Dual identity support configuration at the SIP trunk level - which you can disable. By the default it is enabled as the configuration states the followins:
The Dual Identity Support setting impacts the handling of the From header and P-Asserted-Identity (PAI) header when sending an initial SIP INVITE to the trunk for an outbound call. When enabled, the From and PAI headers are treated independently and may differ. When disabled, the PAI header is set to the same value as the From header. Please refer to the documentation for more details.
However when this is set - and you make an outbound call on WxCC - the PAI header is set to the default ANI of the Tenant, while the FROM header is set to the Outdial ANI.
The CUBE will then remap the PAI header to be the From header. And the PAI header is what the caller seeing as the calling number.
i.e. if you look at the following two headers in the SIP invite they contain different numbers. The default Tenant ANI is set in the PAI header.
.. From:"Entry Point - Global - Not In Servic"<sip:[email protected];user=phone>;tag=226606826-1684842712708- .. P-Asserted-Identity:"eirsupport1"<sip:[email protected];user=phone> ..
by disabling the Dual Identity Support option on Webex Calling, the From and PAI header are both set to the ANI as configured in the Outdial ANI
